In a world where you can buy rod holders in gold metal and dock lines in every color of the rainbow, it was perhaps inevitable. But it is nonetheless shocking. Duct Tape, considered among the most useful inventions since it was developed during World War II, has gone designer.
Once a ubiquitous shiny gray, or occasionally black, Duct Tape can now be found in most primary colors. But it has gone far beyond that.
You don’t have to look far to find exotic purples and pinks — and yes, prints. A quick search revealed you can find plaid, camouflage and even something that resembles tie dye.

Some of you may have been waiting for this (might be a nice temporary fix for upholstery). Others may be repulsed. But there is one development that may be universally embraced. Duct Tape is now available in a transparent flavor, too.
The transparent Duct Tape is not “see through.” The fibers that give the tape its strength can be seen. Still, it may be better than gray for some applications.
Or you could go with a nice day glow orange…
